FAQ
Tanning is a process that depends on a lot of factors including the sunlight intensity also known as UV index, your altitude, genetics and skin type. Therefore, it is very individual. Wearing BetterTan for as long as you can will ensure better results.
Areas of your skin that have never been exposed to sun may not tan the same way as skin that has been exposed to sun before. Pigmentation of those areas may be different and sensitivity levels may be higher. We therefore recommend using an extra layer of sunscreen in those areas to avoid burning. You may also notice slower tanning in these areas.
We do recommend wearing sunscreen in order to protect the skin from burning.
Of course! Our swimwear is very long-lasting and fits perfectly onto any body shape. Therefore, you can use it as you would any regular bikini. It has been tested in salt water and chlorine to ensure fabric durability.
We recommend hand washing your bikini with lukewarm water. See the label attached for more detailed guidance.
Our straps are made to be very thin so as to ensure an even tan. Normally, they do not interfere with the tanning process as they are made from the exact tan-through fabric as the rest of the bikini. However, we do recommend moving them around them from time to time for even better results.
Our bikini are unlined so do not have padding. This is done to ensure that nothing stands in the way of the sun rays. The fabric has been tested both dry and wet to ensure that it is not see-through. Nevertheless, some breast types may be more visible than others. We recommend sizing up if you would like to reduce any potential sheerness. However, this may impact the extent to which the sun can pass through the micro perforations.
