”Up close" with Jen Lagedrost Cavender

Jen Lagedrost Cavender is a founder and creative director of NECTAR + BLOOM, based in San Diego, California. 

She studied creative writing and poetry in graduate school and taught in academia as a literature professor. But then, something bigger was calling her to be an artist. So, she never thought back to flowers, she left academia to create NECTAR + BLOOM. She finds the compositional process of floristry to be both healing and poetic, and she creates stories and poems in the language of flowers.
